D2 full of bugs...
After using the Droid 2 for few days I found little bugs that are starting to irritate me a little. I'm coming from Nexus one so maybe it's the motoblur or whatever that might be little different but if anyone has solutions I appreciate it.
1. Wifi - I have the same wifi issue that everyone is having. On, off, on, off, on, off... unless I go into wifi settings it doesn't work. Also, I thought this phone was 802.11n capable but it doesn't even see my n network, only the g.
2. Haptic feedback - there is no way to disable to haptic feedback completely. I could do it on Nexus One and Droid Incredible but it doesn't work on this phone, software issue I think.
3. Sync widget doesn't work. I am sick of getting email notifications at 2am. Only way is to go through the menus and disable background data.
4. No slide to unlock option. Why should you have to slide the keyboard then still unlock the screen? There should be a setting for this.
5. Facebook contact pics don't sync like the Nexus one. There is no options when to what to sync so it reloads the pic everytime you are in contacts which causes ridiculous lags while scrolling.
ok enough complaining... beside these little things the phone is awesome.

Yup. I just had the wifi on/off repeatedly issue. Happened when I turned wi-fi on via Power Control widget. Had to go into wi-fi settings menu to get it to stop.
This thing is seriously buggy. I wrote this in the impressions thread:
I've seen some WTF failure modes over the last 48 hours. First, it locked up on me twice. Next, any press of the letter L key (regardless of which app you were in) launched the calendar app. Then, the touchscreen simply wigged out and would do all sorts of random things when touched: vibrate repeatedly, launch random apps, call random numbers, etc. That last one required a battery removal. I've also seen the keyboard backlighting fail to activate a few times.

I have none of these issues with my D2. The only thing I hate is the facebook contact sync and the fact that facebook won't associate itself in the accounts menu. No clue if this is just motoblur wanting you to use the built in social networking app or just my phone. I also hate all of the bloatware on the phone like cityid n ****. Starting to upset me a little.

my first D2 bricked after 4 hours. the camera was not saving anything, and then eventually the screen would just go blank and stay that way. you could still tell that the phone was working, as you could still slide unlock and open apps (as it would vibrate with every touch), and eventually I made it back to the vzw store and got a new one, which even then took awhile since it decided to work fine for the rep for the first ten minutes.
I havent really seen the wifi issue other than with pandora. Pandora likes to freeze up after the first song and requires the phone to reboot for it to work again.

I had the WiFi issue, but it has not happened to me for the last two days, so I don't know.
The thing that really bothered me was that when I'd try and plug the phone into my MBP the computer completely freaks out and the phone resets. I just turned on USB debugging mode and plugged it in and it seems to work fine now.
Coming from the HTC Evo, I have to say that the Droid 2 is more buggy. Yet, for some reason I'm starting to like the Droid 2 better, I don't know if it's that the battery lasts through the day even with data and sync on, or the fact that it has the slide out keyboard. Either way I'm happy I switched.

anyone having the issue when the phone is locked on the home screen it will say a weird message with a bell next to it? For example:
"this phone belongs to John Smith. If found please contact 654-232-5553"
The names and messaging have been changing every few hours. I have NO IDEA who these people are or what these messages are. Have I been hacked?

No wifi issue here. I can keep a strong signal no problem on my D2. Sync, and Facebook issues that you mention i can't recall either
I can second that haptic feedback issue. It drove me nuts for the first couple of days. Getting used to it, but would like an option to turn it off.
Getting a weird double-click-y lock sound when i put it on the dock.
I do have some signal weirdness too - sitting in the same spot i can get 1-bar to 3 bars then back down to 2 bars. When i am on a call however it seems to go to full-signal. Anyone else having these reception oddities?
When I went to the verizon store yesterday, I asked if there had been any complaints and the rep said he hadn't heard anything yet but that motorola will be sending out a patch soon for some other 'bugs'.

I'v been sitting here try to reproduce the touchscreen problem while plugged in. I can't seem to do it, I'v tried the Droid 2 charger, my Palm Pres charger, and even the HTC Evo charger, so maybe it only happens if you use a charger that isn't putting out enough power?

The touchscreen/charger bug is very real. The charger is apparently is causing a grounding problem with the screen's capacitive field. However, it only shows itself if you are not holding the phone (specifically, you are not touching the back of the phone).
To reproduce, plug the phone into a charger (I've not tested this with a wall charger, but I assume it would be the same), lay the phone on a table and, without holding it, tap and hold on a home screen. The phone should go nuts. It's pretty awesome (read: not awesome).
I can deal with this, personally. Where it's a bit of a pain in the *** is with the dock accessory.
