Lots of running services after startup

After a fresh reboot I notice a number of services/apps running that I don't use. How can I disable these from starting? As far as I know I can't uninstall apps that came with the phone, but does that mean they always have to be running?

These include:
Amazon MP3
Backup Assistant
City ID
MediaShare
Skype Mobile
Sync Service (part of Backup Assitant)

If you download the latest version of Amazon MP3 from the market, it should no longer startup/run in the background. After city ID's trial is up, it should no longer start as well. Removing backup assistant after root could brick the phone. The rest can probably be safely removed, after root.
