Droid 2 rebooting (RANT)
I don't know what it is, I've tried searching and can't find anyone with the same problem. This is what is going on...
If I open the stock camera via the app drawer, or using the side button, and it makes the clicking noise like it's coming on, or the flash is coming on? ... it will restart. This happens if the phone hasn't been powered off for a day or two.
However, if I open the camera, and have to close it or accidently close it, then reopen it, BAM! Restart. Not always though, but a good bit of the time.
Sometimes when I open the Flashlight and it's making that clicking noise to turn on the LED(?) it will restart, a lot of the time I hit the screen while trying to use the light to actually see what I'm trying to use the light for, and it turns it off, when I turn it back on, BAM! Restart.
Application ecamera, that is suppose to disable the flash and clicking noise, same thing as the stock camera. This has been going on for a while, and I'm about to the point of doing something about it. I haven't done a hard reset, because that's a pain in the arse and frankly, that's one of the reasons I got away from Blackberry.
Ok, earlier I couldn't take a picture, time was of the essence and no matter what I did, when hit the button (physical or touch) the square turned RED. Finally I just yanked the battery out put it back in and took the picture. UGGH. Never had that happen before.
Now this is where I'm stuck, I'm not sure if I want to bother hard resetting because it's going to be a major chore, but I might. I don't know if this is a physical problem, or a software issue. Before my 30 days were up I did mess up the phone, the screen wouldn't load but it would come on.
A friend hooked it up and said he flashed the OS back on, this allowed me to use the phone normally. Maybe this is the cause of my issues, I can't specifically remember if i had this problem before as that was months ago.
I know deep down the only way to go with this is to hard reset it with tech support, have them send me a refurb, but really who knows if I'm better off keeping the dang phone. I wish they had a friggin' desktop manager, for real.
Also: When trying to find info about your phone online, you realize how having 78% of the world calling all Androids "droids" is no longer cool, and how having a phone named Droid 2 really doesn't help your Google-Fu either.
