Yes! It's about time.
Also, does the Droid 2 have motoblur? I'm just asking because when I added my Yahoo e-mail to my Droid 2 Global I got an e-mail saying something like "welcome to motoblur.". - 06-13-2011, 02:50 PM #8

Just got off the phone with Verizon Level 2 Tech Support rep right now - 2.3 is, in fact, releasing today. No idea when it will actually hit, but checking manually isn't pulling anything for me. They didn't seem able to push it to me, either. Oh well.
Hopefully I'll get it tomorrow when my 4th D2G arrives...sheesh...

I've read in several places that it came out today, but checking manually isn't getting me anything either.
On a related note: I'm rooted (with z4root) and still new to the whole rooting thing; will I need to unroot before I update to Gingerbread (whenever it becomes available to me)? - 06-15-2011, 06:37 PM #13

i think what was announced is that the testers are getting it now, which means full release should be a week or so away assuming everything goes swimmingly.

Re: Gingerbread Arrival?
Given how buggy the D2G is right now, it seems like it wouldn't be hard to make an improvement with an upgrade that has probably been in testing for several months.

Re: Gingerbread Arrival?
I have been waiting patiently for GB and finally got sick of all the delays so I installed Cyanogenmod 7. All I can say is wow! If you are worried about warranty and stuff I could see waiting. My phone is more than a year old so I lost nothing. The difference in performance is startling. I should of done this months ago.

Re: Gingerbread Arrival?
I checked out Cyanogen Mod and it looks like there is an unofficial mod of cyanogenmod 7 that supports the D2G, but it has issues with the bluetooth and also switching between the GSM/CDMA modes. Anybody have any experience with it?
