Droid 3 LTE upgrade?
So know how with the Xoom can be upgraded to LTE. Is it possible to do that with a phone? Because i was totally set on getting the Droid 3 but it hit me today that its not LTE and thats a deciding factor to me.

Re: Droid 3 LTE upgrade?
That was almost a deciding factor for me as well, but then I thought about it. I decided that it didn't mean very much because everywhere I go there is wifi. It may not be the fastest wifi out there but it is still wifi. I can understand where you are coming from, but one must put 4G in perspective as it only deals with data, the same as wifi.

Re: Droid 3 LTE upgrade?
I almost waited for a Droid Bionic until I saw my friend with a Thunderbolt carrying around 2 batteries in his pocket. LTE isn't read for prime time when it comes to battery life. In a year or so I might get an LTE device since I live in an LTE area but for now I've very happy with my Droid 3.

Re: Droid 3 LTE upgrade?
i read somewhere that the 4g antennas are currently quite large, so to have a phone with 4g and a keyboard would probably be carrying around a brick. that's my guess anyway.
personally i was disappointed by the lack of 4g but so far i am loving my d3 and think the pros of the phone can definitely outweigh that extra g being left out - 07-15-2011, 07:16 PM #9
