Disable lockscreen?
Come on, that uber-stiff power button is never going to be accidentally pressed while in your pocket. So is there a way to completely disable the lockscreen slider on the phone and jump straight to the main homescreen when the power button is pressed?

Re: Disable lockscreen?
I use No Lock too. No problems with it and it removes one of the D3's minor annoyances. There are a few other relevant applications in the market, including Lock Control and several clones of No Lock.

Re: Disable lockscreen?
Good call on the No Lock. I hadn't really thought about it, but it's true that I probably don't need the lock screen up with as stiff and low-profile as the lock button and volume buttons are. It's working good for me and I really like not having to slide to unlock every time I turn the screen on.

Re: Disable lockscreen?
Yup. Installed No Lock yesterday and so far it is working fine. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Disable lockscreen?
Just to be clear, with No Lock I can turn off the screen without locking it, if I so desire? If so, how would I wake up the screen? If not, is there an app where I can turn off the screen or let it time out without locking it, and wake it by, say, tapping the screen?

Re: Disable lockscreen?
Went into the apps section and cannot find No Lock. Is it called something else? Am I looking in the correct spot? If not, how and where do I get it and install on my phone? I also noticed that every app has a disclaimer that the app will be billed at a rate unless you have an unlimited data plan or something to that affect. Does that matter or should I be worried about be charged an additional amount? I have a data plan already. Thanks.

Re: Disable lockscreen?
Right now, I tap the power button and then slide the lock. But I come from a Blackberry Storm where all I had to do was tap the screen or any button. I know I trade some conveniences for other conveniences, and I'm far from complaining, but anything I can do to make it easier for me I will try to do.

Re: Disable lockscreen?
So with No Lock, waking the phone is down to a one button push (any button on my OG Droid). The same thing went on with your Storm, you had to push something to wake up the phone. I am having trouble seeing the difference besides the size of the target that is available for you to push.
The Storm was/is able to accomplish that task because of the way the screen operates (as you well know, the whole screen physically moves), no other touch screen phone uses that technology and therefore I don't think you will be able get the exact same functionality. But as I said, with No Lock it's down to a one button push, it just goes about it differently and I am not aware of any way to change that basic element beyond what has been discussed here already. - 09-10-2011, 11:07 AM #16

Re: Disable lockscreen?
It doesn't not disable the "Sleep" mode, which is something unique to this phone that basically is almost like turning it all the way off... almost. The "Sleep" mode (that you get on your power-off menu) will still work. All this does is make is so that the lock screen doesn't come up when you wake up the screen on your phone that is already on (and in idle). Not sure what effect, if any, it would have on the pocket feature. I should think it would have no effect, but then again, that pocket feature never worked for me anyway.
