Default Droid 3 vs Droid Pro

Can anyone help me out with which device I should run with?

That depends on what your preference. The Droid Pro is similar to the BlackBerry world, but it has a lower resolution screen and is on Froyo 2.2 (GB 2.3.3 rumored for later on summer or longer). The D3 has higher res display, full keyboard that a man can type on.

While this analogy will get me torched, one is a BMW 3 series and the other is a BMW M3 series, same mfg, just one has a bit more to it than the other.

I would recommend the Droid 3. You will be much happier.

Unless you absolutely dislike the slider form-factor(and some people do) the Droid 3 looks like the better choice.

Motorola sliders are the best available IMO, but love the simple form factor of the Pro...I can't wait for the next version of this phone, hopefully with a better camera, better word emitting, and key placement (swap the caps and alt buttons, argh!)

Yes, but its not just the dual core processor, alone. It has better graphics chip, better memory allocation, qHD display and definitely the dual core will keep your phone in the game for the 18-24 months you will be using it. Plus you can record and playback 1080p Video since it has the necessary hardware to actually handle the 1080p video.

The Droid 3 is a good choice. I can totally see a document leaking from Verizon saying the Pro is going to be end of life soon...

Having owned both the Droid Pro and now the Droid 3, I am glad that I own and use the D3. The screen size is a real help for me and my eyesight. The larger keyboard on the screen and slideout are a real plus. Being a dual core phone it will not be dated anytime soon. Ah and Gingerbread is nice too and the first phone to be released with it.
