In particular, you'll note detail crush in the indoor and outdoor low-light shots... the regular outdoor daylight shot is absolutely fine (but most modern camera phones do fine here).

    Indoor, f/2.4 1/162 sec, ISO 160
    Attachment 77876

    Outdoor, daylight, f/2.4 1/251 sec, ISO 160
    Attachment 77877

    Outdoor, low-light, f/2.4 1/40 sec, ISO 1600
    Attachment 77878

Whew. For a second, I thought Louis Vuitton was building houses.

As much as I like the camera on this phone it doesn't really compare the the s4. So far that is the only thing I miss. Mostly all the features like dual camera and different video speeds.

What's your opinion of this camera?

Not as bad as I thought it would be. I need to take some more shots in different lighting conditions to form a more solid opinion.

One peculiar thing about the Maxx Cam that I have noticed....... the camera shoots in 16:9 mode. I dont see a way to change it to 3:2 which some people would prefer. Not sure how I feel about that. I suppose one might try different cam software and see if they can shoot in 3:2 mode.

I am going to stick with 16:9 as I need the experience in using it, as I dont use it often on my other cameras.

Yes, I went from a Razr Maxx HD to the iPhone 5 because the camera was terrible. I was leery on buying the Maxx but now that I have it I'm very impressed with the pictures that this thing takes. Very very big upgrade compared to the max HD. Bottom line is that you just can't beat the maxx. The huge battery life and this thing is so thin and light. This phone is awesome.

Posted this in another thread. Thought it was a neat picture. Taken inside with mediocre lighting.

Another with mediocre lighting (one kitchen light). Very sharp.

This one was taken at work with very, very crappy lighting. I'm amazed at how well this turned out.

Cool texture pattern on the nose. Love the depth of field.

This side of the rock was in the shade, so the Auto-HDR mode kicked in.

If camera is a priority, the Maxx is not the right phone.

These are indoor, low-light, touch to focus pics comparing my Droid Maxx to my fiancee's Galaxy S4. They aren't edited.

    Droid Maxx

    Galaxy S4

She liked the photo taken with the Maxx since the color reproduction is more accurate to her watch than her S4.

I also took this one indoors, low light, tap to focus. Aslo unedited. It's currently used as my wallpaper.

This was taken at sun down, around 6:30pm, also unedited.

And this was taken at the same time frame but with the included bleach filter, just thought it looked cool.

Even though the S4 might have more options in its camera software, I feel that the quality of the image on the Maxx is on par or better.

There is also an update to it, but it wasn't needed for photosphere.

You will have 2 exact same camera/gallery icons though. I just disabled the Motorola gallery, and renamed the photosphere camera, as it's only 5 mp..

Also, this photosphere gallery reenables picasa/Google+ instant upload sync in the gallery
