USB host mode?

I just picked up the maxx and want to use it to program the arduino as well as use a external hard drive. How can I enable USB Host mode? Thanks for the help

i don't think you can, same as any other AOSP (read "stock android") phone. MTP has been the transfer protocol for the last 2 years (since ICS was introduced with the GNEX)

USB Host mode works well for USB flash drives; I didn't have to enable anything. I would imagine it should work with other USB peripherals.

Thanks for your response. My USB otg cable might not be working properly. I have a new one from amazon on the way that will hopefully fix the situation.
