    Default Notification light

Hey all, I just bought my DROID maxx today and first off I am blown away.... I came from the RAZR maxx and I am loving the switch. Second I notice that I do not have a notification light when I receive texts or emails. Is there something I am missing?

Nope. There is no notification light. But you do have Active Display which will show when you have texts, e-mails, app notifications, etc., which I find to be much better. I'll be at work with my phone face down, I flip it over and if I have nothing I see the padlock, but if I have something, I'll see the icons.

Coming from BlackBerry with a rich, configurable notification environment, I missed the LED notification at first but soon learned that Active Display is indeed a very nice way to receive notifications.

You need to be rooted to have xposed framework working. I don't think OP has root access

When you say xposed has notification settings for this phone what options does it have? I am rooted.

Yeah I am thinking of rooting to to get rid of the bloatware.

There is no need to root just to get rid of the bloatware. Besides the Nexus devices, this phone has virtually no bloatware compared to phones from Samsung, LG, etc. You can easily disable the apps you don't use, which should solve your problem. I see no need to root this phone and this is coming from someone who constantly updated Cyanogenmod on my GNex. I honestly think this phone is fine out of the box.

If the phone is already on Android 4.4 - the latest OTA - you will not be able to root it, at least for now, until a rootable exploit is found.

Yeah and I heard there is a patch coming out as 4.4.2. I also heard this phone is a shoe in for software updates for a long time.

It was until very recently. Motorola was sold to Lenovo, so we'll have to see if it is going to be supported for as long as was first promised

They won't tell us anything like that. This deal won't get regulatory approval and close for many months - probably at least 6. Motorola will not change anything at all until after that happens. I'm confident that they'll continue supporting this phone as they have been. Time will tell, though.

Also, off topic and no offense intended, but that animated GIF signature that you use is pretty annoying...
