A MAXX offered up in color is cool, but at only 16GB??? I wouldn't want one even if it were free, rooted, AND unlocked bootloader!!!

fat-fingered and Maxx-ed out.

Amen. The price isn't that great for a nearly year old phone. But if it was $49, with a mototradeup and a $150 comcast promo id consider it

If my phone were stolen today I'd probably buy one of these (not the red) instead of the 32 GB version. the HTC One or the S5 out of pocket. I don't use much storage anyway.

I'm wondering if the 16 GB spec is a misprint or, if just an option @ the $99 price point. I've seen the announcement on several sites quoting the same 32 GB we're used to on the Maxx so either they're wrong or Verizon is (or, maybe correct with the additional storage being available for a premium above the $99 bucks quoted.

It's not a mis-print; the new models are 16 GB only. I believe that they are still selling the original color only at 32 GB for $50 more (upgrade price) or $100 more (full price), but I wouldn't be surprised if that version is end of life and they are only selling current stock.
