Need Help, Helping a Friend - Snapchat

I have a friend who just got his first Android phone, a Droid Maxx. When someone receives a snapchat video from him, the video is in 3 the sections. It looks something like this:

I have googled this issue but can't find anything. I have a Samsung phone and his camera settings seem very different than mine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same problem. Just started a few days ago, my snapchat videos are all messed up and I'm not sure why. The videos are in three sections, and kind of grainy/gray. I use snapchat a lot, very annoyed by this .

If you find an answer, will you please share it with me? I have looked everywhere for that I can think of.
His also is very grainy/gray.
