A work in progress:

Home screen: Launcher Pro, Beautiful Widgets with Dark Ludi weather skin and White Glossy Clock Skin.

Right 1: Switchpro, batterylife, , app2sd, shootme, wireless tether, GPS Test, Audio Manager widget with Metallic skin

Right 2: Media Page, the usual stuff plus PowerAmp music player.

Right 3: Jorte Calendar

Left 1: News and sports. Genie News widget and Scoremobile

Left 2: Weather/Shopping. Beautiful Widgets 4x1, app icons in More Icons widget.

Left 3: Games.

Lockscreen with WidgetLocker: Custom slider, Beautiful Widgets 1x1, Some digital clock apk i found in some thread, BAATSTATT.

Mine is the ubuntu theme with ADW launcher.

Widgets: beautiful widgets, battery left, and mini info pro.

Will this void my warranty? I managed to locate the app and downloaded it. However, I am somewhat skeptical about going through the actual process.

What are the benefits of rooting and are there any downsides to rooting? Do I have anything to lose?

I suppose you could somehow brick your phone, but I think the likelihood of that happening is slim to none, especially with a simple on-device app like z4root.

Give it a shot, I did it with my Pro. It took two tries, first one got hung up, pulled the battery and the 2nd time it happened in seconds. This gives me free wireless tether and the ability to use the screen capture apps. I also changed my fonts. I kept it simple, didnt want delete any apps that might not let me get future updates.

When and that is a big when...When 2.3 comes out, will I be able to update my rooted pro or will I have to "unroot", if that is even an option.

For those using launcher pro, when you lock your screen is your wallpaper still centered if you lock from the home screen?

On my Droid 2 it always seemed to shift it funny and not center when it would lock from the main screen.

There have been a couple of instances where it hasn't. I had just switched wallpapers when this happened. However, it hasn't happened again.
