Gingerbread has arrived!!!!

I read this when I woke up this morning and immediately checked my wife's Pro. She's running GB now!!

Don't know if this makes a difference, but like my X, I have her MEID registered with the MFN. While she didn't get notification that there would be any Soak test like the X just had, the OTA was there for her this AM. A few others have gotten it also. Could be another fluky thing where it got sent out before it should have, but I would advise you all to check your update and see if you can grab it.

I checked mine this morning, but no dice. Does it matter that I do not have it activated on the network?

Apparently not. A user on XDA isn't registered on MFN and he got the update.

what is the big deal of having gingerbread over froyo... i understand its a update but is it really that much better? is there a difference in performance?

Basically it is a performance boost, but ultimately at some point we will start to see apps that don't work on Froyo anymore. It's like buying a computer that has Windows XP on it now. Yes it works for 99% of what you need now but you have to consider the future. There are also security enhancements that Google does not back port to older Android builds, and OEM's don't write their own patches for.

I downloaded the GB Update through TBH app and i couldnt be more pleased with the speed and performance after the update.. and its a bonus that its rooted

I have the zip files for those that are rooted on the most current build with Clockwork installed if anyone is interested
