Default question about going from cyanogen to stock 2.1

If I go from cyanogen to stock (but rooted) 2.1, do I need to wipe data and cache? I'm noticing some strange things (MMSs not coming through and some other small stuff) and since I"m not really taking advantage of the modded stuff anyways I just wanted to go back to stock for a bit.

I would definitely, but if you are going from say cyanogen to jrummy based off of the same version of cyanogen you don't need to worry about it because it's based off the same rom.
