Looking for a solid, quick Froyo build

Hey all...

So I'm looking for a Froyo build for the OG Droid thats quick and rock solid. I've been rocking CM 6.1.2, and I feel like there are things about it that are just not as stable as I'd like them to be... so call me a purist... but I'm wondering what you all would suggest for a rock-solid, super-fast vanilla build. It's becoming more and more apparent that I can get some of the same CM toys with apps and widgets - and if doing that means and increase in speed and stability, I'm ready for it... even if it means the suggested is full-on vanilla. The caveat: I MUST have GApps.

I tried SnkBitten last night, and it almost bricked my phone... (Nandroid and Clockwork FTW).

Check out Project Elite over on DroidForums. It's what I have been running for months. It's fast and VERY reliable.

I think you will find it is one of the best OG Droid ROMS out.

Gingerbread has been a pain so I went back to Froyo and this ROM is top nothch. Enjoy!!

Thanks for the suggestion, CK. I've tried CM7 and BB Gingerbread too, and I just can't get into it. I feel like the Droid wasn't meant for GB, and I always seem to get much better performance out of Froyo (and I like the UI better on the whole anyway). Once I upgrade to a 4G device, maybe I'll stick with Gingerbread.

Yeah Gingerbread is too buggy on the Droid. I got tired of it pretty quick. PE has been stellar for me so I'm looking forward to your opinion. Report back and Good Luck!!!!

Pretty sexy rom. Really quick, auto installed ALL my apps from Google account backup, and seems to be super solid. Only problem is I can't get the percentage out of the battery indicator.....

2. Ultimate Droid 2.5
3. Bugless Beast V0.6.2.1 - My moms Droid runs this ROM lol

There are tons of great ROMs, just flash them and give them a test drive for a few days, then make your final decision.

Running PE now. Pretty impressed so far... Gotta get a new battery indicator though.

I too am using PE, is there a way to get a new layout for the homescreen? I'm not a fan of the way it's set up on the bottom lol

I'll give one of these a try.
I want to keep the Gingerbread look, but want the Froyo performance. Anyone know of a GB theme for Froyo?

EDIT:
I see PE already has the Gingerbread look. Might give that a try.
