Question ROMS & Hacks after official 2.1 OTA

In the event I unroot, and recieve the offical 2.1 OTA update, how long am I looking at for developers to Root 2.1 and start another great era of 2.1 hacks, Roms, and customizations!

Or....does it not matter at all?

Who knows, but it was pretty quick with the original and 2.0.1 update so hopefully it'll be quick this time too.

Who knows I would say wait for a week and let them add the root binaries to the release if you want root. Don't know if theirs any other way to root it

A week doesn't sound too bad. I was running Bugless Beast (2.0.1 version) before.

I discovered HelixLauncher in the Market, so I'm back up to more than 3 screens. But I had a 1 GHz kernel and now that it's back to the stock 550 MHz, I'm feeling the slowness...

so with this I could update to 2.1 and then root back to my smoked glass theme? is there truly any advantage of doing this?

You can load this 2.1 and if you don't like it go back to whatever you want

I unrooted and updated before i seen this rom to see what the official update was like. I thought i could .sbf back to 2.0.1 and re-root but you can't. In RSDlite the start option is not available, the device shows but you can't install the sbf. Am i correct in assuming i have screwed myself and will have to wait for 2.1 to get rooted in order to regain root?

I sbf'd back today, after installing the 2.1 official update. RSDlite had no issues putting me back to 2.0.1.

Maybe i'll try at work tomorow. I have sbf'd on my computer at work before successfully. This is first time i tried at home. My work computer is win XP, maybe i have an issue with win7 at home. I ran as admin. like the instructions said, but the start option is greyed out. I thought maybe my sbf file was bad so i redownloaded it, but still no go. oh, well at least have some hope for tomorrow

**edit**.sbf worked today on my work computer

Yeah I went back via RSDLite to 2.0.1 stock, and then used DM to load SPRecovery, and flashed to this and everything is fine.

That update.zip is really bad I ran it then noticed that it only did around 25% of the actual update (Look in the update.zip then look at the stock update.zip and you will see a lot is missing) then used my own 2.0.1 nandroid backup and followed speedymons guide to get root on 2.1 then used the normal 2.0.1 guide to get busybox and recovery then I made a nandroid of that before I did anything else to it. Here it is for those of you who want the true stock 2.1, su, busybox, and recovery (busybox is in /system/bin for any of you that need to know where it is):

Tell me how it works (I cant remember if there are spaces in the nandroid backup folder if there are remove them and you won't get error 21 anymore).

    Have fun.
