I have never seen this before. My phone is mounted near my radar detector and as soon as the phone goes to sleep, it sets off my laser alert. This didnt happen with the Droid Maxx. Something is being given off to trip the detector, but only when it's in standby mode. Wifi and Bluetooth are off.

Any thoughts?

Its funny that you posted this, because the first day that I bought mine, I was changing a song on my phone and the laser alert on my whistler radar detector goes off so I drop my phone and slam on the brakes. I don't see a cop so I pick it up to change the song again and suddenly realize that my phone is setting off the laser alert. There are 4 infrared lasers located at the corners of the phone. They are for motion, detecting when you swipe your hand above the phone. If you record your phone (with a different camera) you'll see the infrared lasers flashing in the corners.

If you want the laser alerts to stop, go to settings, moto, and turn off the actions (reach for screen... And the other 2)

LOL, I called my neighbor today (a state trooper) and asked if he had gotten a laser in his car. I was gonna call Escort to get it tuned up later today. THANKS for posing this!!

thank you for the quick answer. That makes total sense. I actually like the new features of proximity sensor and how they work. I might try a different placement for my phone as I don't want to lose this advanced functionality.

Keep the phone 1ft in any direction of the radar detector. The lasers reflect and can set it off otherwise.
