Droid Turbo Unable to Connect to Google Services

I disabled to following apps and now the wifi/signal bars are gray, indicating the device is not connected to Google Services:

Amazon app suite
Amazon Kindle
Amazon music
Amazon app store
Audible
Cloud
Cloud print
Droid Zap
Family base companion
Google Hindi Input
Google Korean keyboard
Google Pinyin Input
Google play music
HP Print Service plugin
NFL Mobile
Quickoffice
Slacker Radio
Softcard
VZ Navigator

I re-enabled the apps but the phone is still unable to connect to Google Services. The phone seems to be working fine, I haven't encountered any issues.

My question is what are the downsides to not connecting to Google Services?

Thanks

I'm having the exact same problem. I didn't disable near as many apps as you. I disabled:

Cloud
Message+
VZ Navigator
VZ Protect

That's it. All of a sudden Google services stopped working over wifi. And same thing, after re-enabling the apps it still doesn't work. I'm going to do a factory reset tonight.
