Why is my call/voice quality so poor on my Droid Turbo?

Call/voice quality on Droid Turbo

I have tried using my Droid Turbo for Voice calls. I know what a concept. tried HD voice on and off. people I called said that I sound very bad. Unless I am using my BT Plantronics headset. Also this has only happened twice. Phone randomly shuts off. and overheating while charging. (Screen display that overheating message). Any ideas?

Are you using the stock charger or something else? Are you doing anything else with the phone while you are charging (navigating with a maps app, listening to music, playing games, watching video, etc.)?
