Still functional, although I didn't k ow about it UNTIL Lollipop!

You have it backwards. The chop was just added with the Lollipop update. Didn't have it before.

I actually did have it before Lollipop..found my issue Moto was disabled. Thanks folks.

Did you have some app installed to chop twice for the flashlight? I didn't have it and according to the release notes published by Moto, no one else had it prior to L either.....

This is the text from the release notes.....Chop Twice for Flashlight: Lollipop includes a new flashlight option as part of Quick settings (swipe down with two fingers from the status bar to see it). Moto Actions let you turn the flashlight on or off with two chopping motions - without waking or unlocking your phone.
