Installed Droid Turbo 5.1 update and now home button does not work

Just finished installing the update and my home button and recent app button no longer work.

Just got mine working. I was in messaging app and kept hitting the back button until it tried to pull up the homescreen. I then had to tell it which launcher to use. Hope this helps

Mine was like that at first but then after updating google play services, my home and recent apps button started to work again.

My wife had the same issue, power off the phone and back on, give it time they will come back.

My home button stopped working once as well. Turned it off/on and it came back.

I had the same issue on my moto x and resolved it following the instructions on this article from androoidpolice site /2014/08/07/how-to-fix-missing-home-and-recents-buttons-and-notification-shade-that-refuses-to-pull-down-after-android-update/ (can't post links yet)

I used the terminal emulator app and ran the command:
am start -n com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity

I noticed that my home, back and recent apps buttons don't always work when I have the phone in a horizontal position. I have to turn the phone vertical to use them.
