Why won't my Droid Turbo unlock through ADM?

Droid Turbo will not unlock through ADM

On Lollipop

Droid Turbo currently has a swipe pattern security.
I try to reset it through Android Device Manager, it says successful but it just shows the optional message I wrote on the phone screen and the swipe pattern is still present.

I need help to fix it. Motorola told me to contact you.

Motorola should know at least as much, if not more, about its own phones than experts here. I never did like Android Device Manager, as it can lock your phone if lost, but cannot unlock without a total factory reset. You may very well wind up doing a total factory reset, or maybe even reflash the phone entirely with RSDlite and fxz for Turbo Lollipop. I learned my lesson the hard way, too, and often backup my unreplaceable files, at least as a result. I have my doubts on a solution through ADM. I can't say for sure, so maybe there is a way.
