Calendar Event Notification Not Working

Since the software update the other day on my Motorola Droid Turbo (Verizon Network) the calendar event notifications are not showing on my phones pop up, status bar, or lock screen. I create a new event set a notification time and no event notification at all on my phone, but the event notification works everywhere else, I get them for that event in my google calendar on my Ipad and PC but nothing on the phone. The reminder notification works no problem (which is also set in the calendar). I even created events on my Ipad and PC and still nothing on my phone. I called verizon who told me to call motorola. They told me to clear the cache which i did, event notifications still not working. Also we have 4 droid turbos in the household and we are having the same problem with all 4 of them since the update. I hope someone can help as I rely a lot on the event notifications...
