Droid Ultra & Bluetooth connnectivity

I have a Droid Ultra with the Kit Kat update and am having trouble with Bluetooth connectivity with my Ford SYNC and a Sony Radio/bluetooth speaker. I can get it connected to the Ford SYNC in 2 steps 1: prompt the car to sync with the phone & wait for it to say the phone is unavailable. 2: tap the SYNC indicator in the paired devices under the phones Bluetooth settings. While this is functional it is annoying & time consuming. I was unable to pair the phone with the Sony Radio, the dialogue on the phone said there were no bluetooth devices in the area even though I had the phone next to the radio. Any ideas on streamlining/fixing the connectivity problems?
