I noticed that not all of my contacts had pictures and nearly all of them usually do because of Facebook providing the pics. In the past, it didn't seem like Facebook updated the profile pics as the contact did so every once in awhile, I would remove the Facebook account from "My Accounts" and then re-add it and then the picture shown on each contact would be their current profile pic on Facebook.

I attempted to do that this morning. I removed Facebook from "My Accounts" and then re-added it. It does show under "My Accounts" but when I go to my contacts, my Facebook contacts are not included. The only contacts that have pictures are my Twitter contacts.

When I hit the menu key and look under "display" (while in contacts) the box is checked for my Facebook contacts to appear in the contact list but they aren't.

I also have the Facebook app on my phone and I usually use it to access Facebook but I've always added Facebook to "My Accounts' because I do want Facebook contacts to show up in my contact list and so I would have pics for almost all my contacts.

Is this a glitch with the Gingerbread update? Any way to fix?

I've always had problem with Facebook pics not updating with the stock account sync even on Froyo. I have been using SyncMyPix (free in the market) to keep them synced since shortly after I got my X.

try this thread as well. i think it deals with the same issue youre having. and syncmypix also works great for me when im having FB contact issues
