Why is there no way to save emails?

I'm using the stock e-mail(bellsouth.net). K-9 does not have this option either. All I want is the ability to save my important emails in a SAVED folder. Gmail does not have this option either.
Why something so simple is missing on a smart phone??

Just to note. Gmail works differently in that there aren't folders, there are labels. So you can apply labels to an email (multiple labels if you want). You can also 'star' a message to quickly apply that label for easy access to those emails. You can star and apply labels to emails in the gmail app on the phone.

Ok fine. But i never use gmail. I just created it to get my account.

i have the option to SAVE EMAIL on my stock email (Not talking gmail, regular comcast email).... Click the menu button then the bottom right click on "SAVE EMAIL"

Ok I got it to save. Now where is it? There is no saved folder when i go to find it.
