I know it has been a while since the DX was EOL'ed but has anyone had any recent news on whether Asurion is still replacing the DX with the same model or if they are replacing with the DX2?

Mine has been a trooper but it has started acting very weird lately (random resets, screen flickering, getting scalding hot and resetting for no reason) so I decided to get an insurance replacement. I would have upgraded but I am too far out from my date and don't feel like re-upping for another 2 years right now.

I know back in June or thereabouts Asurion ran out of DX and had started sending out DX2's but I wasn't sure if that situation was still in effect or if I am just going to be paying $99 for a good old DX.

Not positive... but from what I remember, I think they were replacing them with DX2's.

Well, got my replacement.

Droid X. And true to form it has a dead pixel and screen discoloration in the middle. Ugh.

Now I will have to wait for another one. I wonder how much complaining I will have to do in order to get them to send me a Droid X2....

Yea I heard they switched to the X2 as a replacement and in extreme cases(I'm sure after quite a fight) you could get something else a little more up with the times.

I would call them right away and just tell them you are up to date on current replacement situations(including the one you're in now) and you TELL them what you want, a X2 that is out of the package. Not someone else's problem.

Well, the second replacement has discoloration in the lcd near the middle of the screen. Really annoying on light colored backgrounds. Called, complained, DX2 is now on the way. *fingers crossed* hope I get a good one.

On the up side... With all these faulty refurbs they have been sending me, I am amassing quite a collection of 8gb sdcards and spare batteries!
