For two days my X has been acting crazy. If I try to swipe screens, it will just shake back and forth. Most times the screen won't even respond. Or if it does, it chooses a completely different icon or letter than I was pressing. I had to continually pull the battery which helped for maybe 5 minutes, then it would go back to shaking and/or not responding. The physical buttons on the bottom work though.I ended up doing a factory reset, which has helped a little bit - - I turn it off via the top botton and then turn right back on and the screen works again.

Is this a hardware issue? Could it be the battery? Since the factory reset, it has also drained the battery like crazy. It was charged overnight to 100 percent and by the time I got to work at 8:30 it was 30 percent, and then it was dead by lunchtime. It's never drained that fast. Thought about getting a BH5X battery from amazon, but I'm curious to see if others have had this issue, and if it's fixable.

Are you running a market launcher or the stock blur launcher? Might try another launcher to see if it's a software issue. / /
If it's not software, it sounds like a digitizer issue. Replace the phone or are the only options for that.

It's probably not the battery. Many people have been having shorter battery life. The BH5X is almost 2 years old. That's nearing End of Life for almost any rechargeable battery. Mine has gone from about 20 hours a day to about 14, and I'm a light user. If you are keeping the DX for a while, I would definitely replace the battery. Be sure to buy a Motorla battery and not an aftermarket clone. I have 2 of those and while they both work in the phone, one won't charge in the phone and neither report their status to the phone (I have a big X in the battery icon when used).

If you are rooted with CWM, you can reset the battery stats to see if that helps.
