Nice.
I own an Incredible... But if this releases within 30 days of the 25th, I'll have to get it (assuming Motoblur really is fixed up). - 06-15-2010, 06:55 PM #5
Android is growing so well and is everywhere. Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mo all seem to have a killer phone running Android. The iPhone is going to fall behind quickly this year. Seems to me that Android and iPhone are even, this next year iPhone will be overtaken. I don't have anything against iPhone, but it is nice to see that it has some real competition for a change.

I'm tore up now. I am contract upgrade eligible but don't know if I want to use it for this or wait till later this year for the 2GHz phone Moto has promised. Moto X looks awesome but Android platform gets better by the second.
Android Version - 2.2 (Froyo)

Wow, this thing is pretty big. I wish it had a front-facing camera, though. I don't know, I want my phone to be "future-proof" and it really won't be without a front-facing cam.

^^exactly i want a front facing camera this is out of the picture for me.

No front facing cam and no hot spot capabilities? Also, I didn't see anything about GPS (it's gotta have that though)?
P.S. I'm a current Evo owner. - 06-15-2010, 09:45 PM #10
Ok well we know it doesn't have a front facing camera at this point (if you didn't now you do at least lol)
If you go look at the Engadget review the OP linked to you would see in the top left of the phone shot of the menu opened a 3G Mobile Hotspot app which means yes it does
And congratulations on owning your EVO its a nice phone no one can deny that but for people not willing to switch to Sprint the X will more than suffice
Oh and I didn't answer your question about GPS because I didn't think that was a serious question but if it is yes it does have GPSLast edited by luniboy26; 06-15-2010 at 09:48 PM.

if your not willing to switch it will make a great phone. but at the end of the day you will see this. one phone will be great at cpu task, evo and the other will be great at gpu task the x

Good eye on the hotspot app. And yes I was serious about GPS. The Evo is my first Android phone, so now I've come to find out that they've had GPS (unlike my iphone 3g and 3g's).
I may go with this phone only because Sprint is okay where I'm located, but not great. ATT is even worse. - 06-16-2010, 07:39 AM #15

Looks like a good phone! - I agree with other people though .. no front facing camera = not for me.

Front cam is nice but I think its still a novelty right now since Qik hasn't been doing jack in terms of support. Theres too many loops to jump through right now JUST to make video chat work on a phone. I have the Evo and I love it but still haven't done any vid chat as of yet.
I have always been a fan of moto ever since the razor days and obviously, they're trying to make a big comeback with android and have been doing a great job. The design def reminds me of the droid, very industrial and also due to the size will mostly appeal to men only. The only thing I DON'T like its the hump at the top, it just kinda kills the asethetics of the whole thing. Other than that, they did a great job with the X. If you don't want to jump on the Sprint wagon or their coverage is inferior to VZW in your area and you like big phones, this should be on your list. - 06-16-2010, 10:26 AM #18
Would be all over this if not for motoblur. Hopefully it either gets rooted before it comes out (ala the evo) or you can just disable motoblur now. Either will do fine for me. Plus with the acquisition of Duarte I am sure that I will be wanting a stock android experience. Maybe companies will make their phones come with more of a distro and give you the option of the ui to use... You know, like how linux normally is...

What is Motoblur? I hear that a lot and I'm going to be jumping into Android form BB and since I got burned on the Storm I'm researching the crap out of all VZW android phones..
ThanksHTC Rezound, IPad2, and Galaxy Tab 10.1

I'm really caught in a tough situation myself....the review was actually very good & of course there are some missing features we'd all like to have plus some additions removed too. I can get this phone probably end of july or wait till early august for an early upgrade as my BB Tour just sux azz. There are rampant rumors about Moto coming out with an even better model which I'd almost bet will be on Verizon too & even rumors of other Android phones coming down the line. I just want a complete phone with what is becoming standard: 1Ghz or More Cpu, 2.1(Eclair) or 2.2(FroYo), HD Vid with HDMI Plug, 5+Mp camera w/Front Facing one as well, & also good internal storrage & the ability to add an additional MemCard on top of what's in the phone. There are a few other things that I can't think of @ the moment but you get the point......no one including myself wants to be totally left in the cold & having not all the needs. I know this sounds a lil much right? Pssst NOT hahaha! I love the EVO but bad reception, batt life, & a few others make it unworthy to jump to SPRINT. What to do what to do???

There will always be a better phone coming in the next couple months. Get over the need to constantly have "the best" or shell out the bucks to pay retail whenever a new "best" is released.
