Who knows it could be tomorrow the day it comes out or six months after. All depends on how much they lock it down

After reading in different forums....it appears that no one can say for sure. All we can hope for is that some genius Developer will solve the equation for us promptly. I just hope it doesn't take too long.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the impressions that if it has an encrypted bootloader we are screwed :/

Default I bet it gets rooted after the 2.2 update

I don't think anyone will root this phone until they get to check out an OS update. Somewhere in that 2.2 update is a key to unlocking the phone. Some very smart guy will figure it out, I'm sure.

An encrypted bootloader means I will never buy another Motorola phone. Plain and simple. That would just confirm the rumor that all future devices will have encrypted bootloaders

If it is encrypted, you can forget it unless a way to bypass it altogether is found.

encrypted bootloader doesn't mean un-rootable. it just means you probably won't be able to load custom roms. can still root.
