Moto X already sold out!?
Been reading the headlines and talking to people I know at Verizon. I knew they would be well stocked with as much at 50 to 60 units per store for launch. In my head I thought, thats plenty and that they would never sell that many phones in a day. Espcially considering the fact that many Android peeps had gotten an Incredible or were waiting on one.
They are SOLD out or selling out as we speak in these parts!

Verizon is slowly learning the impact of first day sales and what type of inventory they will need. They can't go forward with a Iphone like launch because even with the desire for the X they would never sell them all.
The good thing is Moto tends to stick with parts that tend to have lots of available stock, so they should be much more flexible in keeping up with demand then HTC has been.
They really lost out on the Incredible. They had like 2 months of no competition sales of that, if they had stock they might have made a killing off the phone till the X came out. But now 2 months later after release its only trickling out and is no longer the new hotness. The recent drop in expected delivery probably had more to do with people dropping orders for the X then better stock. - 07-15-2010, 01:50 PM #8

The store here in Dothan, Ala was going to sell out per the rep I was dealing with, as we were standing in line I asked the question " do you have enough for everyone here?" He replied "we have enough for the ones signed in already if they all get one...There was approx 50 ppl in line at that time...It took 2 hours waiting in line to get my phone and I was #13 in line waiting before the store opened....
There was atleast 50 more ppl showing up as I was leaving, I am sure they sold out. - 07-15-2010, 01:56 PM #11

I got to my local store at 8:00 and they only had enough for those who made appointments for that day. The first guy in line without an appointment had to place an order. Now, unlike incredible, they said it would arrive tomorrow in store and they would give him a call.

I got to the store at 8:50 normally opens at 9:00am. Sweet no line
. Reason there was no line was that they opened at 8:00 and all 30 that they had were activated and out the door already
. At least they kick **** processing people. 30 phones activated in less than 40 minutes. That's impressive. On a normally day you are looking at 30 minutes a person.

I Got Mine
I called yesterday afternoon and made an appointment for when my Verizon store opened at 8AM, something that I didn't know I could do. For some reason, I left early this morning and arrived at 7AM. The store was already open.
I asked for Richard and he said he had my phone waiting for me. A lot of people came in after I did and they had to order theirs and have it delivered tomorrow. But I Got Mine along with a leather case with kickstand, purple silicone case and screen protectors (they were 25% off because I got 3).
I asked him how many phones they got and was horrified to hear 20!!! I was sure they would have tons, particularily in a city the size of Houston!
Right now I am downloading like crazy from the app store. I had some trouble getting online and accessing the store because the guy forgot to turn off my iPhone when activating my Droid and it "didn't take". I thought sure my new phone was a lemon. Working just fine now. And so far I am impressed and love it. My iPhone will be listed on Ebay on Sunday when I am off again.

My question is how fast will the reserves in the warehouse dry up and they post on the website "Available by 8/?"

I had 2 pre-ordered at a LARGE local best buy. Yesterday I get the call, they only have one of my two, I was last on the list, etc.
No problem, we work around getting a second one today, all is well. I go to BB today and that part of the transaction was great and painless. I ask how many they got.
Seven. That's it.
My wife walked into the Verizon kiosk at a local PC Richard figuring nobody would be there and walked right up and bought one. - 07-15-2010, 03:24 PM #25
Salt Lake says they are out
So a rep at a Salt Lake Verizon store says they are out but I've learned that sometimes they are not being completely honest. The Verizon reps get paid more on a new activation than on an upgrade so apparently sometimes (I stress sometimes) they have a few hidden for that "New" customer when they tell the guy who is trying to upgrade that they are all sold out and he should check online.
