Smile How To: Free Motorola Droid X Bluetooth Tethering Mac OS X

hey guys just got my Droid X and while playing with it yesterday I was able to tether with my Macbook 10.5.8 without any problems (it was actually really easy to do no root needed, no app required). So not sure if this is new to anyone but hey I'm not paying $20 extra every month and still able to tether for free without data cap. Let me know if you guys are not able to do this, I'll try to do a video over the weekend. Droiiiiid

Have you got your bill? Are you sure this isn't charging you?

It's outlined in this article from Droid Life:

If you connect your Droid X via Bluetooth to your Mac, then you can access the internet through the device without going through Verizon's pay-to-use website.

The same thing works on Win XP (presumably other Win versions) by selecting Network Access Point instead of DUN.

Only thing I worry about would be extra charges.

why would they? you're not hacking anything or using something you're not supposed to use - paring the phone with your laptop is one of the many features although I believe at some point they will get this fixed.
