Default Any way to create folders in the APP menu?

I think I pretty much know the answer to this one by doing searches on here, but is there any way to create folders in the app menu to segment games from productivity apps, etc? I know that you can create folders and shortcuts for apps in these folders on the main 7 screens but as I want the least amount of clutter on these home screens.

If not natively built in to Android, is there at least some free apps that can provide this functionality?

And yes, I came from a Blackberry Storm

this is another basic function that Android is missing on. Android does (sorry for that.) so much, but the programmers seem to totally forgotten some very basic functions. for the basics, android needs to check in with RIM on how to do folders and sound profiles.
