Default How do you disable the auto-lock feature?

I searched the forums and couldn't find an answer, so here goes.

I have a Droid X. I want to be able to manually lock the phone when I push the power button. If the phone goes to "sleep", I don't want it to lock. Is there a way to do this?

Is that a Motorola only thing? My HTC EVO does not have that setting.

That doesn't quite work. It keeps it from locking the screen when it sleeps, but if I hit the power button, the screen doesn't lock. It stops any locking of the screen. There must be a way to do what I want...time to search some more.

There was an app called Autolock which fixed this, however it doesn't work past eclair (2.1), a lot of people waiting for a new app to do this, apparently its proving tricky to make for un-rooted phones

go to screen lock(jelly bean) > go to 1st option secured with password > give the password you had given > go to last option i.e., none > now its done
