national access coverage not available?? What?
I seem to be able to send text messages just fine on my Droid X, but when I attempt to send a picture, video clip or audio, the message fails to send and I get the following message "national access coverage not available"
Is anyone else getting this? What's the issue? - 07-30-2010, 07:02 AM #2
I had this issue a few days ago and could not receive picture texts.
First dial *228 and choose 1, for program updating. After complete do a battery pull (leaving battery out for at least 15 seconds).
If still a no go, call VZW and verify your account settings are correct.
This is what VZW had me do and it has been working fine since. - 11-18-2010, 03:24 PM #3

Ive had this...sometimes it just comes back and sometimes Ive had to reset my phone (turn it of and on, not a hard reset). Random times my phone will just show my bars with a red line through them like I have no service and then after maybe 30seconds...just comes back. wierd

Odd. Do you have Juice Defender or anything running that could possibly block data?
This happened to me last night when I was trying to see a picture my friend sent me. Noticed I didn't have data (because of juice defender) right away, then tried again about 10 seconds later and it worked. - 11-22-2010, 06:24 AM #9
if you are rooted do a backup and a factory reset. then before you restore try to send a pic. if it works restore your apps and settings. then try again. if it doesnt work then you know you have an app or setting blocking you data messages

I tried the hard reset, *228 reset, Airplane mode (on/off cycling), and just about everything else that was suggested. After reading up somewhere that it may be an issue with advanced task-killer, I looked around to see if there was anything in particular that I'd shut off or altered.
Problem solved. My issue had to do with the way I'd changed my settings to prevent inadvertent 3G charges.
1) Settings
2) Data Manager
3) Data Delivery
Under Data Delivery, make sure the option of "Data enabled" is checked. Again, I know it won't be a fix for everyone, but it's worth a look if anyone else tweaked the phone there or worth some consideration if you have an external program to control 3G usage (specifically those that block it after reaching a certain point to prevent overcharges)
Hope it helps. - 05-18-2011, 07:02 PM #13
