Help. Screen won't come on and can't turn off phone

I've been charging my phone since about 11pm last night through my computer's usb and now at 4pm the screen won't come on.

I went to check my phone and saw the blue led notification light was solid. Not blinking but solid. I clicked the power button to get the screen to come on and nothing. I clicked the other buttons and nothing. So I held the power button down to turn off the phone and nothing.

I pulled the usb cable from it and tried hitting the buttons again and nothing. I plugged the cable back in and it said, "droid" and shows up on my computer.

Is there any way to restart my phone? Do I have to pull the battery? Will it mess my phone up to pull it while it's on?

My phone hasn't done anything like this before. It was working fine earlier today.

Yep, and no. Do you use Handcent?

Looks like I had a missed call, text, and voicemail.

Maybe the three things coming close together in time caused my phone to mess up?

I don't know. Seems to be working now. Hopefully it was just a one time thing.

When you said it had a solid blue LED, I thought it was Handcent. Anyway battery pulls are an extremely rare occurrence, so if it continues to happen, either exchange it or if you're using a 3rd party app there could be an association there as well.

Make sure you are not running a task manager.

I am running Advanced Task Killer. Did that cause the problem?

Possibly. Depending on what your settings were.
