Droid X Shipping on August 23!

I just ordered my Droid X and they're telling me it will ship on 8/23! I feel like I've waited forever for the phone already, now I have to wait another 2 weeks! I can't wait for the phone, at least now I have two weeks to research accessories! I hope Seidio will get their act together and start selling those Droid X cases, as I've always had good cases from them. I hope everyone else is getting their Droid X's in a timely fashion!

BTW, this was a phone order, I called Verizon directly, since the store here on Maui is wiped out.

I ordered my wife's replacement X on Saturday 7/31 - was told that it would ship around the 18th of August and I'd get an email confirmation with tracking info when it did ship. It showed up at my office yesterday - 8/4 - I got no email regarding tracking or anything.

I was stewing about it all weekend and had even called VZW on Monday 8/2 asking if there was ANY chance it would ship before the 18th since we had been having issues with her X since we got it on 7/15 and was told "sorry - that's just how it is there is nothing we can do to ship out something we don't have - it should go out on the 18th".

Yeah, they usually ship WELL before the stated shipping date.

They just use it as a "safety net"

I ordered mine on the 31st, was told it will ship by the 11th

I got my phone yesterday with fedex 2-day shipping

I just ordered me and my wife X's two days ago and on the site and the phone they said they won't ship till the 19th. The person on the phone that took my order said that they may come sooner. I haven't even received an order confirmation. Will that come when it ships? If it comes? I hope I get mine sooner as like the OP says they changed the date now to the 23rd.

I sure hope mine just shows up out of the blue early next week, that would be sweet!

That's good news and bad news, I suppose. Good in that I'll be getting it prior to the 23rd, but bad that I won't know when the phone is shipping so I can be home to sign for it. The Verizon CS Rep said I would get and email on the FedEx tracking info but seeing as how none of you got it, and it just magically appeared, then it is what it is.

I ordered mine on 8/2 with overnight shipping, my status is "Order Status: Your order is currently being processed. Please check back tomorrow."

I believe mine said that it would ship 8/19 or sooner when I ordered. I've noticed that on the Droid X the date keeps getting pushed up.

I just ordered mine today, the 5th and they said it'll go out tomorrow but since I wont be here I'll have to wait until Monday the 9th.... I think I can manage.... Got it billed to my acct and after the rebate it's only $100. That my friends, is worth it!

Ordered 8/2 also, it said it should ship by 8/18 ( it changed to 8/19 later in the day)
Order Status: Your order has been processed and will be shipped based on inventory availability
been checking it enough that i now have the order number memorized.
Hopefully it'll ship soon.

First of all, I'm a huge Garfield fan. Secondly, I'm very happy that you were able to get it so soon. Living on a rock in the middle of the Pacific always has disadvantages!

Hmmm... Perhaps mine is taking longer because I opted to port my T-Mobile number? I checked my credit card statement, and the order was charged 8/3 and posted today. Still no mention of shipment.

I too noticed that my credit card had been charged, and I distinctly remembered the Verizon CS rep saying that they would charge the card when the phone was ready to ship. When the missus was balancing the checkbook this evening, the charge got posted. Did I hear wrong or could it be true, the phone is shipping?

I hope to wake up Friday morning with a FedEx shipping notification in my inbox! Man, I sound lame waiting for this Droid X, but you have to understand, this is the first time I've got to choose my cell phone. The past three and five years have all been company issued cell phones. Droid X FTW!

I ordered mine on Wirefly on tuesday. It shipped yesterday and will arrive today. Free overnight shipping and the phone was $179. I ordered through New Egg but its still Wirefly doing fulfillment.

I ordered the anti-glare screen protectors as well, I just wish Seidio had released their line of cases. I've always had good luck with their cases and I'd rather not go a day without the X in a case.

I was almost stuck with ordering mine from Verizon as most of their partners don't offer 1 year contracts like VZW does.

My buddy at work ordered his last Friday. He got his notification on Monday and the phone Wednesday. He was also told "ships by the 18th". So, fear not it appears to be a "hedge bet".

BTW - Newbie here coming from BB Storm (1 and 2). I'm sure I'll have a bazillion questions once it gets here.

I got my DX on 7/28 and they still haven't asked for any money

.Maybe they forgot lol .They billed me for my D-Inc 3 weeks before it got here tho so ,oh well

Glad to hear everyone is getting their new phones in a somewhat timely manner. I bought mine on July 15th in store and was told I was to receive the next one that came to the store. Its now Aug 7th and no phone. I keep after the phone store about it and all i ever get told is it's on the way, yeah right. Next time I will stay at home and buy it online.

Ordered mine 8/6 @ about 11am (EST), the website showed it should ship by 8/23 it changed late last night to 8/25. hopefully I have the luck that some others have had and I'll see it next week. Also, i'll be getting to do this all over again in a month or 2 (hopefully) when I go to order the Fascinate for my wife.

I ordered mine on 8/1 and still haven't received a shipping notification. My order status still just states: Your order has been processed and will be shipped based on inventory availability and shipping method. You will receive shipment notification and tracking details via email. I am having such a hard time waiting for this phone, I can't wait to get rid of my Storm 1!

I called Verizon this morning just to see if there was any update on my order and same thing, scheduled to ship on 8/23, but the Verizon CS person said that the phones had been shipping early, but just to sit tight.

If only Seidio can start making their stuff available for purchase, I'd love to put the DX into a case before I step outside with it.

I ordered my phone on 8/4, they told me it would ship 8/23 and arrive 8/25. I just got the email today saying it will arrive on 8/11 no later than 11am. From everything i have read, they seem to be shipping early.

Im just excited to finally get rid of my Original Storm!

I odered my replacement DX on August 3, the Verizon rep said it would ship by the 18th. I got an email today with a tracking #. At least they are getting them out the door promptly!
