Default Can I trust assurion to give me a functioning phone?

Hey guys, if you were following my old thread before about how i cracked my screen i got an update. I told my mom about it today and it turns out when she bought the phone she signed me up for the insurance, which i was unaware of at the time of writing the thread. But after some responses, im wondering if filing a claim is even worth it. I do not want to pay 90 dollars for a messed up phone! Anyone here had experience with assurion and an android device replacement? My friends say all their replacements are terrible and break all the time, but they have like env touch's and the like, not android. Thanks.

I just received my replacement DX on Thursday. It was a brand new, not refurb one at that. Runs as good as my first one. Maybe a lil better bc I have froyo too.....lol....$90 is better then almost $600.

No experience with them on droids yet, but we've got several replacement blackberries through them with zero issues.

I replaced my Dare 2 or 3 times through them and the only problems I had with the replacements were the same as the problems I had on my original Dare that came from Verizon. IDK about android phones though.

I have had a phone replaced with them but not with the droid with a windows phone(twice) and a blackberry phone(once). Still suppose to be like new and usually if they have to send out another one IF the first one they send didn't perform right they will send a new one the second time.

Dude $90 for a phone that you can get warranty replacements on even if its not working, is better then paying $200 for a paperweight (I think its a bit too light for that. Besides you have a 2 year contract now, are you just going to use your old phone for 2 years before replacing it?

I wouldn't base things on people's experiences with the enV Touch. There are enough problems with it that you can get it replaced for one issue, they can refurb it, and then it could later experience a different issue.

File the claim dude, its worth the $90 vs $600 for an retail priced phone. You could always get on asuiron's case if the phone Isnt up to par.

insurance claims only cover damage if it's done while currently paying for it

if you break your phone THEN add insurance, that is insurance fraud

kingneptune added insurance after he broke it...thats insurance fraud

I believe if you will re-read the OP you will see that he states when his mother purchased the phone she purchase the insurance at that time. Not after he told her he broke it.... Just clarifying.

really whats with the boooo?? I did the same thing, its fine! I dropped my droid x in a lake and then when i got home i called verizon and signed up for insurance not telling them i already damaged it. Would you rather pay 600 bucks??? Exactly thats what i thought.

If you are comfortable with insurance fraud that's your thing. I agree with boooooooo.

Mods. This discussion is a valid one. And sub topics should be allowed in forums as long as it is engaging to those participating in the discussion and everyone is civil.
There. Now I sincerely hope I don't get booted.

The crackberry threads allowed a lot more lattitude. Probably too much. It was quite entertainimg feeding trolls.

Its not fine, its fraud, but whatever. Stop being cheap and just get the insurance from the stay, especially if you are careless enough to drop your phone in the lake
