    Default I have a Droid X with 2.2

I probably am one of a very few who have a Droid X with 2.2. How I got it was, my first droid x was resetting three or four times a day so Verizon sent me a replacement and it came loaded with 2.2. Being a new Droid X user, converted over from the BB Storm 2, I have some questions which you may or not be able to answer since the OS you may have may have specific differences to 2.2 if you have 2.1. But since I never got a real chance to work with a phone that had 2.1, I don't know if the differences are significant. My biggest problem with the Droid X is the Calling and Call log features. Coming from a Storm 2, like a lot of you. The calling features on an S2 were well thought out and efficient. The DX has some short comings and I am hoping it's operator error and not a software design flaw. First, making a call requires three to four steps depending on how you originate the call. For the purposes of this discussion we will consider that the call was brought in through voice dialing. When I voice dial a number, the searching function comes up and I query the VC. However, after I have said my search request, a second voice comes on with a different set of instructions and I have to repeat my request with the added "call" command. This seems a bit redundant and pointless. Second problem is the amount of time, sometimes 3-5 seconds before the VC program is ready to take a command. Now lets talk about the call log. The first thing that would be helpful is a searchable recent call list. S2 had this. Why can't the Droid X? To clarify what I mean by searchable recent call list. When a call comes in and your either take it, miss it or reject it, it's placed on a call log. Now if you are like me and get between 55-85 calls a day, the call log can become very large and full of a lot numbers that I would like to be able to find. Droid X's answer to this obvious oversight is to store these one-time caller numbers to either a quick call list or your contact list. S2 had a much better solution to this problem. They would eliminate same calls and allow you to search through the recent call list. Perhaps I am being naive about this function being so wonderful on the S2. For a variety of reasons, I no longer own an S2. Primarily for RIM ceasing to support the phone. The other reason was in the year I owned the S2. I had to replace the phone four times. One the fourth replacement, Verizon so graciously offered to replace it with a Droid X. But with-in a week, my Droid X exibited the multiple reboots and was replaces with current Droid X. I have to say that the hardware is exemplary and even with the above deficiencies, the phone as been one of the best cell phone I have ever owned.

You don't have 2.2 from Verizon. If so, you'd be the first; and only, person with it.

Yeah I call BS on that too, they aren't showing it being on the dx from their website(which they always do) .

They even jump the gun a little and show it on their website before it actually ships with 2.2 , so without screen shots of the official I consider that a bogus statement . LoL

I call double BS. I just received my DX late last week and it still has 2.1 upd 1 on it.

jrmvideo, one small suggestion. That's a wall o' text and it would be easier if, in the future, you used a few paragraphs.

could be that someone sent it in with a problem and had loaded and not wiped it prior to sending it in, he did say it was a replacement

if you go to the call screen and select the tab for calls it will show you all calls. You can also sort by incoming, outgoing, or missed.

I have been visiting the Verizon Local Store to get a feel for the Droid X and decide whether I should switch from a blackberry on AT&T to Verizon and the Droid X- The Sales person stated the X is Back-ordered and when I asked him about 2.2 Froyo, he stated........... The orders shipping out from the Factory for the Back-ordered stock has 2.2 Froyo on it.

Im kind of concerned because if that was the case, I would be seeing "Ive Got it Finally" all over the web and here, thats not happening. So, either the Sales Rep Lied to me, or he doesnt know what he is doing (saying) Lousey way to start off a business relationship with a new customer-

Anyone have any ideas? (2.2 Froyo) for Droid X

i highly doubt you got 2.2 unless you put the leaked one on...we would have definitely seen a lot of posts with people getting it if that's true

to send out one phone with 2.2 makes absolutely no sense

Well it doesn't , its suppose to be this year before christmas , anytime between now and then would be a safe bet .As I stated in other post I was told the DX had froyo on it way back in Mid July (and I knew it didnt) by a sales person actually a supt. When I told him that no it doesnt he checked and said your right it doesn't.I was also told the VZW BB tour 9630 didnt have the GPS unlocked and it does by an sales person .I really knew it did but didn't mention that ,lol(before I switched to android)

When it is going to be ship out with the 2.2 the website will show that it has that OS til it shows that it won't , actually the website will probably show it at least a week before they did ship with that OS.

Those people are just in sales you gotta kinda watch them as you would a used car salesman what ever it takes to make the sell is all they are in for it for.

PS: my dx can drive my car for example , lol

In answer to your question about the recent call list.. the X does have it....press your call button and you will see at the top a tab for dialer/recent/contacts/favorites....push the recent tab and that gives you a list of all calls MADE and RECEIVED recently.. my list goes back almost 2 weeks.

If you're having problems with lackluster motoblur, maybe they will Exchange the X for a Incredible with Android 2.2, The HTC sense UI system is much more refined.

Tech support is sending me a "like-new" X today, and he said that it would probably have 2.2 on it. He said that 2.2 was being slowly released NOW, and that he had talked to a few people yesterday and today that had received the update already.

Why call the person a liar? Call VZW tech support before you call someone out. 2.2 is being sent out as we speak (per VZW tech support). Read my other post.
