Downloading now. Anyone know if we need to unroot...or if we can move SU from Bin to XBin to stay rooted yet? I rooted with Easy Root if it matters...

Well, I'm on the previous leaked 2.3.9 and they weren't bluffing with their threats....no update available for me.
I believe I will wait and see what you smart guys come up with to allow us early adopters to upgrade to the official OTA. I have all the files necessary to manually go back to 2.1 but I don't want to do that unless it is absolutely necessary....
patience....
Cheers,

Done. Froyo tastes good.
EDIT: COLORED LABELS IN GMAIL!
OH and since there will be a ton of people in this thread, i shall shamelessly ask, when the gallery is cued up from the camera app, WHY does it default to my OLDEST picture and not the ones i just took!? - 09-21-2010, 11:45 PM #35

Tried the update again after unrooting and still got the update failed...did some searching and during the update process if you hit the SEARCH button, you get a console like display of what its doing.....
Mine ends with
So Im guessing they did some kinda CRC check on everything and since I modified the build.prop it didnt like it and screwed the upgrade??Code:Verifying current system assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/build.prop","76f714f20045407075a08d1f8634dbadf689166c5","448243fe4bdffdd0818e81286821889880d37752") E:Error in /cache/Blur_Version.1.13.604.MB810.Verizon.en.US.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted.
Damn..Hope I made a back up of that file, but since I unrooted to test that, Guess I will ahve to root again, make that change back in the build.prop, and then unroot again and try the upgrade...

Well the second time seemed to work a little.... um... better for me. I believe it installed Froyo, but I can't tell as I can't get past the Droid X eye.
Nevermind, it just went away. (Took several minutes) I have Froyo. At no point did I unroot. I had renamed some of the APKs in the /system/apps folder, and renamed them back after my first failure, but no clue if that is what solved it.
Good luck everyone. - 09-21-2010, 11:49 PM #42

Unrooted and update went thru perfect. 2.2 2.3.15en.US version is on.
Now I have to reroot and see if that works.
Droid EYE did take a long time to go away but it did. - 09-21-2010, 11:54 PM #48
WiFi Issues
Completed the update from stock phone and I cant keep the phone connected to WiFi. Same network I am doing this post from, and same network that worked on 2.1. Also, when WiFi boots it does not connect to 3G. Anyone else with the issue? Doing a reset now.

I can confirm that the Droid2 root method works for rooting this OTA. I just tried it myself and it works.
