Text Message for 2.2
I updated my X today to 2.2 and found something interesting with the text messaging. When you receive a text message it does not automatically bring it to the top of the list. I do not know why it does this, but when you send a text message the person will automatically be at the top of your text message list, but after receiving another txt from the same person they will be back down on the list in its original spot. Bottom line is it does not keep your most recent text messages on top like it used to. It only will if you sent something to them and they did not reply yet. I was wondering if anyone else is having this happen to them? thanks

I think the leaked versions (both) did this as well. I thought it was strange.

Any idea how to fix this? it's pretty annoying. Nothing in the settings to change it either.

That's a really, really glaring and obnoxious bug. Talk about sloppy.

Yes this is very annoying. Has anyone contacted Verizon about this?

****. This sucks. They take all that time to optimize Froyo and then there's a glaring bug like this. I doubt we'll see an update soon.

Same here...and on handcent...also shows like how many total text messages you've had since the update...like "43 new messages" as opposed to "1 new message" when you get a text

same thing here - horrible cause I just sent SMS to one of my clients meant for other client, thinking that it was the most recent text and top of the list

That's the luck of the draw I guess. I thought perhaps it was Handcent but after uninstalling/reinstinalling the application, it didn't help.
Cool little feature is that you can have the same quick access clicking on the contacts in text as you do in the contacts. if only you could carry that over to a home screen ala launcher pro - 09-22-2010, 08:33 PM #19

How text messages are sorted on new FROYO
Im pretty sure i figure how the new sorting of the text messages works out on FROYO if no one else has...
When you have sent a text message that hasn't been responded to yet, it remains at the top of the list. But when you have new text messages, they will appear in order as newest received. (under the ones that havent been responded to yet)
if that makes any sense...sorry i am on a bunch of painkillers haha

I read it, respond and delete it. No sorting issues here. If I want a lengthy conversation with someone, I call them.
Try handcent.Last edited by greydarrah; 09-23-2010 at 07:40 PM.
