Battery life with 2.2
How is everyones battery life with froyo? After a few days of getting 12 hours I am now on almost 26 hours with 30% left, 90 mins of phone calls, heavy texting, a little web, downloading some apps and messing with them.
Anyone else see big gains?Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - 09-24-2010, 10:35 AM #2
I have not seen any gains.

I have also seen HUGE gains. Nowadays I'm seeing about 60% left at midnight of heavy use as a work phone!

dbuge,
there is definitely a way to get over 15+ hours of solid performance out of your Droid X with heavy usage. Your move to 2.2 Official is part of it. Apparently a moderator is offended by my knowledge and deleted my post on how to effect this outcome. I can't understand why he deletes my posts but oh well. PM me and Ill tell you how to do it.Nextel Flips > Motorola Slider > Blackberry Storm 9530 > Motorola Droid X > Galaxy Nexus - 09-24-2010, 12:56 PM #10
I don't know if I would say huge gains since I haven't tried my normal battery drains like Pandora while reading an e-book or playing Galcon. It does feel like it is improved battery life though.
But I would have to say that I've been impressed with flash not sucking down battery life. My solar panels got turned on for the first time yesterday and I was checking about every hour what their production was on a flash heavy web-site. Besides Flash being a little clunky, it still managed to show most of the information and my battery was at 60% when I went to bed. I personally expected that any time I used flash that it would instantly drain the battery but I've been delightfully surprised. Now I just need to try to watch a TV show on CBS.com and see how well the battery performs after that. - 09-24-2010, 12:57 PM #11
Battery life is crazy... I was gonna get a larger battery but who needs it now. All depending on how often you're syncing email and such. I used my X heavily yesterday, around midnight my battery was still at 30%. Im lovin it

My battery life has not changed whatsoever. What tweaks are you guys using to gain so much battery life with 2.2?

my battery was great before, maybe a little better now, off charger for 20.5 hours, still have 40%...

The OS seems to be a lil more on the snappy side. Im impressed. It may be 2.2 that's makin the batt give me such a nice performance or it may be the both of them working together. Either way, go for it. Read up on what you're doing and take your time. Its not that hard. I was a little sketchy on whether to root or not. It was my 1st time as well, do your homework and you'll ace the test

I have had off the charger for 17 hours now. unplugged it at 6 am and at 50%!!!!! That's 4 times what I had gotten before the update. The only thing I had done different was to download ATK before I updated. I'm not rooted either. All stock.

Same here. My battery life jumped from 10-12hours, to 20+ hours. After 20 hours off the charger today, I'm still at 40%. I've made several phone calls today, text, toke a lot of pictures and video at Disney on Ice, watched about half hour of a movie I copied to my X, surfed the web a little.

Well after removing advanced task killer and flashing my phone, battery life has improved 100%. I went from charging twice a day to charging once. Thanks for all the tips.

I too am running 2.2 Leaked-->Fly X-->Blackmods-->Beeseleys build.prop mods, and i am seeing great battery life . Way better than running 2.1. You know if Verizon were to just listen to the Hacking community the droid x would be so much better . I love this phone , and is the best phone i have ever owned , but why build a phone on a open source platform and lock down the bootloader? i see motorola having to choose between opening up the bootloader or losing alot of customers mainly in the development world. I wish Motorola would listen to the people who make these phones great ( the Modders) aka Birdman , Koush , p3droid , rainabba , Phil , and so on .
OK im off my soap box rant . - 09-27-2010, 02:55 PM #25
