Beeping While On Phone Call (Not An Incoming Message!)
So when I am on a phone call, I will get a constant beep every 10 seconds. It is not an incoming SMS or Email or anything like that. It is just a continuous beeping pattern. I tried uninstalling every app I've installed since it started and it's still there. Any ideas?

My wife has been complaining that she's hearing a beeping, which she thought was an incoming call, but no one was there. She thought maybe it was a notification for incoming text messages or voicemail. She's out of town, but said she was making some adjustments to notification sounds. I'll let you know if that works.

Have you checked to make sure you are not in an extended network? You may have your roaming tone turned on.

Definitely not roaming.

Is it a quick double beep every ten seconds? I've had the same problem ever since updating to Froyo. I've read up about it online, and... it's not necessarily great news. Powering the phone off and back on seems to be a temporary solution. The first few times I power cycled the phone, it went away for an hour or two. Knock wood, after the last power cycle, I haven't gotten it for a few days. A complete factory reset seems to work for some people, too.

Seems like we all have the same problem and it seems like it's yet another Froyo bug. I rebooted and I haven't hears the beeping since. But I've only made 2 phone calls.

This very issue has been discussed frequently on the Motorola Owner's Forum which everyone here should join.
The problem was recreated by someone using the search function to find a Google contact.
Most of the time the problem is fixed by a battery pull.Nextel Flips > Motorola Slider > Blackberry Storm 9530 > Motorola Droid X > Galaxy Nexus - 09-29-2010, 04:17 PM #12
There's another possibility - that you need to do a *228 / 2 (if you are on Verizon) - the roaming update. It locates the nearest cell towers to wherever you are, improving your reception. If you move around a lot geographically, doing this update periodically is a battery saver, as well... Phone portion doesn't have to work so hard to get a signal.

The only time mine has done this is when I have the alarm or timer set. Maybe a calendar reminder too

My x has done the same thing twice now since upgrading ...a beep during a call that sounds like an incoming call, then the phone becomes unresponsive and, although it appears the call has terminated, the other party can still hear you, but you can't hear them.
Bouncing around a few screens made the call reappear this last time.
