Better Keyboard Issue

So I just got my first Android phone this week. The amazing Delis X ( coming from a Storm 1 ) and my buddy who has had a Droid said to download Better Keyboard since you could change the skins. At first I lived it but then I realized that it wouldn't correct my typing errors ( used to the aweful surepress ) I have checked all the setting on both the BK and the multitouch keyboard and both have auto correct checked. Any idea how to fix. I love the regular Android keyboard skin and did pay for the app. I would hate to waste my money so can someone help the Android noob. Thanks.
