Just recieved a Like New/Certified replacement DX

just received a certified replacement...and I have a couple of questions.

First things is the battery pull tab is yellow on the cert phone and my original phone had a red one. Is this just a different color tab or are there changes to this phones manufacturing?

Secondly, after initial start up, I didnt have to enter my google account info. Any ideas why? i thought I had to havea google account setup in the phone in order for it to operate...I know I wont have my google info synced, but i really never used google until a month and half ago when I got the phone. Will this creat any other issues besides the syncing?

The tab was changed due to people cutting them off. The account login is just to sync google stuff and is not needed to work the phone.

Well a Google Account is required if you're going to download anything from the Market, so you definitely need one to take full advantage of the phone and the Android platform in general.
