pls help..urgent
guys,
seems that I didnt make a backup..if I did where would it be on the sd card?
if I didnt make a backup of the rom that came preloaded then I have no choice but to use it rooted... would prefer not to, but if I have no choice then Im screwed..
in that case, I would like to try apex..the more stable system..
the problme seems that droid x bootstrap doesnt run when I hit bootstrap recovery..
so how am I to load this new rom?
thank you

Ok Phil, we can get you up and running. First off is the Apex zip downloaded and on the root of your SD card?

yes it is

OK, go into bootstrap recovery and hit "bootstrap recovery", there should just be a pop up that tells that recovery was bootstraped. You will then hit reboot recovery. This will restart your phone in recovery and you will be able to load the Apex zip from there. Let me know if you can get that far.

Ok, go ahead and reroot with z4 to be on the safeside. That might have something to do with bootstrap not working.

what do you think I did? is my original os setup gone?
- 01-01-2011, 08:43 PM #25
It wasn't really anything you did but flash a ROM that was having some bugs. It happens. I did the same thing but was able to flash back to the ApeX backup I had. Without a backup of your stock OS, it is gone. It can be recovered by flashing an SBF of the stock OS but it is easier to get you running on a good ROM and tackle the SBF down the road. ApeX is a solid ROM and will give you a better feel for a custom ROM.
