Is it possible to rename pictures in the gallery?

ASTRO file manager, if you have this app, you can.
SD card > dcim > Camera > hold down the pic you want to rename > edit > rename.

You would think there would be a way to rename a photo while it's in the Gallery. I tried touch and hold, discovered a whole batch of things you can do with the photo from editing it to putting on borders or drawings. But no way to change the name in the X Gallery without using a dl app??

BTW, one could access the SD card's DCIM folder (or any other folder) using the USB connection to a computer, right click on the photo and rename that way.
