Help with Email Account

When I bought my Droid X in October I didn't have a gmail account so the Sales Rep at Verizon created one for me and set it up as the primary account on the phone. Well problem is, I don't know the password of this email account so I cant check my email on a computer, only my phone! I want to replace this email with a different account but A) I'm not sure how to replace the old account with the new one on the gmail app. and B) All of my apps are connected to the old email address

Verizon may have used a default password of 1234 or you can go to the webpage for gmail- www.gmail.com will get you there. Click on the can't access account links and see if they can help you.
