What do you do if it says Failed to vverify whole file signature. Signature verification failed. Installation aborted. What am I doing wrong here?

You probably named it wrong if you're getting a signature error. I was getting the same thing last night.

Make sure its a zip file, and then just rename it to "update", NOT "update.zip"

With the other Ggingerbread leak it was necessary to go back to 2.3.340 stock. If you attempted to go from a custom ROM to the leak, you'll probably need to SBF.

That must be what it is, because I am running Liberty 2.0.1 right now. Well crap. Looks like I have more homework to do!

I just updated myself...and have to say I'm it loving. A few tweaks here and there but its awesome right now.

So I still have the refresh bar still up there. Is that a bad thing?

I'm running 2.3.15. I'm trying to get the OTA update, but it keeps failing. Will the update.zip method work better?

Ok... Do you know how to SBF? IF you do...

    NEED: RSD Lite
    NEED: .340 SBF
    NEED: .588 Leaked Update zip

    1) SBF to .340 Froyo (unrooted)
    2) on your computer rename .588 update zip from it's original name to "update".
    3) Move "update.zip" to root of SD card.
    4) Turn off DX
    5) Turn on DX in Recovery
    6) Install update.zip
    7) Factory Reset
    8) Reboot

NO! He needs to be on 2.3.340 before he can load a GB leak. He cannot load GB from 2.3.150.

Great thanks. I need to do the SBF step, that would explain why the update never took. Why am I stuck in .15, some intermediate update never got applied?

Go to THIS THREAD to find out about RSD lite and SBF. This can seriously F' up your DX if you do something wrong... so make sure you read the instructions carefully and do exactly as they say. When you complete all instructions on this thread, step 1 of my instructions will be complete.

Since your on 2.3.15 and did not get the .340 update (Are you rooted and did you remove some bloatware?) you'll want to 1) sbf to 2.3.15 (NOT 2.3.340) and then 2) get the OTA for .340 by going and checking for "system updates" in the settings and then 3) move on to step 2 in my instructions.

I'm pretty sure you have to sbf back to 2.3.15 in order to go forward in your case... (someone please correct me if I am wrong...for his sake).

Ok, I SBF'd to 340. Now when I check for an update it says I'm up to date. Strange, I thought it was trying to push GB on me since the day I got the notification was the day all the news about OTA GB hit the net. If they were just trying to push 340 to my phone that should have happened months ago right?

If I take the next step and use the update.zip file, will I miss future OTA updates like I have been?

It depends... If .588 does become an official Verizon update you will get future OTAs. If it does not become official, you will not get the future OTAs but you can fix that by SBFing back to .340 so that the OTA comes through.
